Whether arranging metal pieces to create panels of intricate metal relief for his Sculpture Front series, fusing together a collage of steel sheets to form his Welded Steel collection or hand shaping the epoxy resin surface of his sculpted metal collection, Paul Evans excels at blurring the lines between functional furniture and work of art. The immense popularity of his work decades after its introduction is testament to his talent and unique style. His pieces are prized not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for his innovative use of materials and command of craft.

The Welded Steel collection to which the PE-46 design belongs is characterized by it dramatic shapes geometric patterns and patinated  or textured surfaces. The PE-46 is representative of Evan’s ability to merge industrial and fine design principles making it a stand out piece and striking focal point wherever its placed. A rare design created in the late 1960's this PE -46 Lamp Table of patinated steel painted with polychrome enamels is quintessentially Paul Evans functioning as both work of art and piece of furniture.  Round bronze tinted glass top by Venfield
