This figurative Murano glass pendant, crafted in the 1970s by Barovier & Toso-- the world's oldest glassworks, established in 1295-- offers a glimpse into the centuries-old craftsanship and tradition of Venetian glass making.
With large, realistically sculpted leaves sprouting from its ruffled body, it has the characteristic look of a cabbage. The glass is given an organic texture with the use of "frit". These crushed and reheated fragments of glass coat the backside of the dish and soften the light, diffusing it to create a subtle organic ambiance that is ideal for accenting dining areas, foyers, and curated vignettes.
Venfield offers a pair of these whimsical fixtures, each priced and sold individually.
